I’m embarrassed to admit, but I love it when pumpkin spice products overflow the market. To me it 1. signifies the return of fall, 2. allows me to officially bring out the sweaters and scarves (although I haven’t been able to wear them quite yet in LA), and 3. reminds me of my best friend (a pumpkin spice mega fan) who’s still off living the dream in Europe. There are a ton of pumpkin spice products beckoning for your dollars. Some are ridiculous (like this one) and others just funny (like this guy), but I’m putting a recipe out there for those who want to make something good, clean, and a little different using coffee flour.

Beet Buns for Valentine’s Day
Hello again, it’s been awhile. Seven months seems like a long time to have been away, but it sure did go by fast. The last time I posted I was getting ready to move back to New York, and now here I am! It’s been such a whirlwind with so many lovely happenings that I don’t even know where to begin. I can only start by saying I’m really enjoying being back in the city, meeting new people, reuniting with old friends, and learning more about food everyday. It could not be better. And I’m cooking more!

Lemon Poppy Seed Loaf for a Birthday
Cinnamon Roses and a (Re)Start
The last year has been a very transitional time for me: saying goodbye to Paris, seeing my sister get married, and moving back to Korea. I felt a bit up in the air, heading somewhere but nowhere in particular at the same time. It took be awhile to find my grounding and to be honest I’m still adjusting to this new phase in my life. I was looking for a good moment to revive JDP, a pause in my life when I could get all my thoughts together and let everyone know what was going on. But things are always changing, and life continually transitioning, if I didn’t jump in at some point I was afraid another ghost of a year would pass by.
I’ll slowly get around to all the new changes that have taken place since I last posted (one being that I started a new job!), but before getting there I wanted to kick start my new blogging momentum by changing the look of this site! There are still a few kinks to be smoothed out, and it will continue to undergo some changes, but I hope this is a good (re)start!

Homemade Bagels and Lox Cream Cheese
It’s finally the end of the month. When I think back to the beginning of November this day seemed so far away, but somehow four weeks went by in a flash. I’m actually really surprised at how comfortable I became with blogging everyday. Not saying that I didn’t have slumps or one liners, but I sort of enjoyed the panic that comes with meeting a deadline. It kept me motivated and pushed me to try more daring recipes outside of my comfort zone. I want to thank all you readers, whether this is your first time here or your 30th, but knowing that somebody is reading my site is so rewarding and a great encouragement. Thank you!
