We had a great meal at Sushi Kanesaka so it only made sense to go check out Tsukiji Market where all the fish was probably sourced. Restaurants and serious buyers go early in the morning to bid on the freshest seafood, but there was still plenty of fish for sale by the time we got there just before noon.
Besides seafood, there were many other food related shops including ones specializing in tamago. In order to draw in customers samples are handed out generously.
There were a handful of fresh produce sellers. Among the products were fresh wasabi and bundles of edamame!
There were also plenty of food shops to grab quick food to-go…
…and also little sushi places to sit down in for a light lunch.
Our meal wasn’t spectacular, but it was a fun part of the whole experience.
As we walked towards the station, we said goodbye with a little swirl of green tea soft serve! Yum.

I particularly like the looks of those dim sim in the steamer basket. I’d love to buy some of those fish to fillet and make something good with- although I’m still so slow at filleting!
