Ever since I started JDP, my sister has fallen head over heals into the blogging world. She’s constantly emailing me about cool new sites that she’s found and has even become more up-to-date with the food bloggers than I am (which is saying a lot!). I thought it would be fun to come up with a short list of blogs we frequent and love:
This is about a month overdue, but The Hungry Dog awarded Jessica’s Dinner Party the “One Lovely Blog” award. As a start-up blog, it’s always incredibly flattering and thrilling to find out that people besides your immediate family and bribed friends (“Puhleeze read my blog, you guys!) read and even like your blog! So, yay! Thank you to The Hungry Dog, who has a pretty awesome blog too!
Money Saving Mom: Mom blog? The fact of the matter is cooking endeavors can get pricey, so there’s quite a bit of cross-fertilization between the food blogosphere and the wonderful world of couponing moms. This blog frequently posts up the latest coupons and freebie offers. Coupling coupons with weekly store deals, Money Saving Mom shows us how to snag grocery products for practically free! Here she purchases 10 + bananas, 7 boxes of cereal, 2 mini cups of cereal, 2 boxes of nutrition bars, 5 apples, 6 packs of pens, and more for only $5.82! Home economics is making a comeback!
Grace Notes NYC: For NYC foodies, Grace’s blog should be a must-stop on your blog itinerary; her site is literally a mecca that surveys the crème of the crop and not-so-crème of the crop restaurants in NYC. She’s literally been everywhere, from Sushi Yasuda to Jean-Georges. This year, she’s on a mission to eat at all Michelin-starred restaurants in NYC! How awesome is that for a resolution?
Jeffrey Saad: Remember Jeffrey Saad, aka: the runner-up in the latest season of The Next Food Network Star, the Ingredient Smuggler? We recently discovered his blog, and the same urban cool persona from the show translates onto his blog. What is great about his recipes is that they are accessible. Here he makes “mind-blowing tasty mushroom bruschetta in less than 10 minutes! In his latest entry, he endeavors to make a shrimp recipe for his wife who doesn’t like shrimp so they can “live happily ever after!” Aww. Who doesn’t love a family man who can cook up a storm for his wife?
